Club & Instructor profile :	Hereford is where it all started. Sensei Tom opened his first dojo in 1975, at the gradeof 4th kyu. This was not planned but the sudden retirement of his teacher left him as the highest grade in the club at the time, and the obvious choice to take over. Once Hereford was established Tom branched out and over the years started clubs in the following towns – Ross-on-Wye / Ludlow / Hay-on-Wye / Knighton / Leominster/ Malvern / Usk and Tenbury Wells. Most of these clubs are still active today so Tom’s legacy continues to flourish.. Tom gained his 6th Dan grade, under the Shukokai World Karate Associations founder, Kawata Sensei 9th Dan. The grading was held in Melbourne Australia at the Samurai Honbu Dojo. Tom graded Shihan in August 2003 under Kawata Sensei 9th Dan. Sensei Tom putting Jon through his paces.
